I’m sure you’ve heard the term psychic development on your travels into quasi ‘spiritual’ journey work. Personally, I don’t see this as an unusual thing to look at or experience… I also believe that everything has a spiritual meaning/understanding.

There is a part of our brain that is wired to understand more about the unseen realms than we realise. It’s been often disparaged and a source of amusement to many who only operate from a limited view of how we are, or are not wired.

Education and science have steered us away from the unseen realms and although of course both have their place, it doesn’t mean that one must negate the other. We can’t see particles with our physical eyes that are our component parts, but science has brought them into view and therefore, the unseen IS real.

How we see, how we interact, is very much a personal journey and one is not better than another, merely different to. Every person who reads for others in any shape or form have their own methodology… no two are the same and yet they will arrive at the same information via their individual route.

If I say to you, ‘orange,’ how does it relate to you. Do you see it, smell it, taste it… are you visually able to conjure one in your mind’s eye… or is it impossible for you to imagine its texture, sharp scent and taste or the dimpled skin and sticky juice… or perhaps just one of these aspects.

We all have our own way of ‘seeing’ which for many isn’t really seeing at all, rather sensing, imagining, manifesting. Terms such as clairvoyance, clairsentience, clairaydience, empath, sensitive are all bandied around like labels to wear and yet we may be or experience every aspect of any of these, both singularly and combined, on our journey to discover what simply works for us or is the truth of us at the core.

In the early stages of developing our own gifts it’s imperative to allow our individual way to unfold; to not get caught in the trap of thinking someone else’s method or means is more relevant than finding one’s own. You are as unique as your journey inward is. Perhaps you have an affinity with this earthly world, rather than floundering around in realms brought to you through your imagination that you can’t entirely pinpoint, combined with, say, a fleeting memory of other places and time frames/zones. None of these are wrong, simply different but caution must also be used in exploring without guidance. It’s a good idea to find who/what your guidance reveals itself as and not be lured into fantasy because you thought an eagle as companion is more important than a sparrow; an angel better than an earthly spirit.

The New Age movement and most religious doctrines have a lot to answer for in terms of ‘this is the only way to’…… fill in the blanks… and thus, have created yet another dogma that so many have been trying to find their way out of. There is never only one way to reach the source of your understanding of both inner and outer realms. It can be found through a combination of logic and magick, science and psychism and through exploring the hidden realms of our own psyche… there is no right or wrong if it harm none.
